Students
enrolled with Summit Learning Centre are provided with the learning resources
needed to support the Student Learning Plan as developed in cooperation
between parent, student and Summit Learning Centre teacher. This plan may
include on-line or paper-based courses, or alternate resources selected
during the SLP development process.
Summit Learning Centre may provide a student resource allotment, which will vary according to the program planned and curriculum choices made for each student. The resource allotment is available to ensure that students have access to the resources they need to meet the goals of the Student Learning Plan.
Resource allotments are not provided for part-time students, or students who are active in less than four courses. All resource purchases require approval of the teacher. Please note that access to any Summit Learning Centre resources requires status as a ‘student in good standing’. Please see the Letter of Commitment for details.
Summit Learning Centre will provide a list of approved vendors and service providers which offer an array of non-religious curriculum materials and software, as well as lessons in music, dance, drama, visual art, and a variety of sports, to assist in achieving the learning outcomes and goals of the Student Learning Plan. Please note that Summit Learning Centre is required to pay service providers directly; no reimbursements can be made to families with the exception of Internet expenses.
Note: applies to the majority of Summit students who are enrolled in Distributed Learning; note different criteria for those registered in Homeschooling.
More information on these resources can be found in the Parent Handbook
