Full-time Grades 10/11/12

We are a distributed learning school. Distributed Learning occurs when you are learning at a distance from your teacher, whether you are at home, at school or at another learning facility. Distributed learning is funded by the Ministry of Education as a means of ensuring improved access, more choice, and flexibility to learn outside classroom schedules.

Students in Grades 10,11, and 12 are entitled to be ‘cross-enrolled’, which means that they may take one or two courses through Summit, but complete the majority of their program at their neighborhood high-school. However, we also offer a full-time program for students wishing to complete their whole program through distributed learning. Please note that students in Gr. 8/9 can only be enrolled in one school at a time.

Our full-time program meets the needs of students who require flexibility in when and where they work towards completion of graduation requirements. Full-time students include elite athletes whose practice schedules impact their ability to participate in regular highschool classes, as well as competitive musicians, dancers and actors. Other students are involved in travel overseas for an extended period of time, but wish to maintain work on their studies towards graduation. Whatever your unique reasons are for choosing Distributed Learning to complete your highschool program, Summit Learning Centre is ready to help you achieve your goals!

Students in grades 10/11/12 are not required to maintain a full course load, and have flexibility regarding the number of courses active at any one time. Please discuss your plans and goals with the Summit teacher who works with you to develop your Student Learning Plan, and we will be happy to help you develop an achievable and satisfying plan that leads to graduation.
