University Entrance Scholarships Most universities offer awards to students who achieve marks in the 90s in provincially examinable courses. Awards can range from $2000 to $5000 and no application other than applying to the university is necessary.
These offer substantial monetary awards for students with excellent grades and who have been outstanding contributors to school and community.
The Foundation awards tens of thousands of dollars to Mission students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and community and/or school involvement. Applications available in November and deadline is late February. You must be a resident of Mission.
This provincial program rewards student achievement in academic and non academic areas. Grade 10 - $250, Grade 11 - $250, Grade 12 - $500. No application necessary as the school determines the recipients. The monies will be held for up to 5 years after graduation.
These are awarded to students who write at least 3 grade 12 provincial exams and score marks in the 90s range although this can vary. School grades are not factored in. The awards are $1000.
These are awarded for excellence in the Fine Arts or Applied Skill fields. An average of C+, portfolios or demonstrations, and interviews are part the application process. The award is worth $500 cash and $500 to attend a post secondary institution.
A great many awards are available to aboriginal students for post secondary education. Inquire to receive a comprehensive list of scholarships and bursaries.
